First of all the Workflow changes: the 4.4 release has a new tool, EasyDriver, that increases customization possibilities. EasyDriver is a special node, called “compound node”. Users are now able to define rules for the input and the output template and write on their own the drivers script. Indeed, the node is composed by one application node and one or more input/output template nodes linked to the application node.
With the new release The Grid will support more nodes, for example: SpaceClaim, AMI, CATIA, Excel, Matlab, GT-Suite and JMAG.
Also the Design Space has been improved: in order to better evaluate DOE Main Effects and DOE Interaction Effects chart, users finds 3 levels new options. In some cases where it seems that the change of the factor's value is not influential respect to the result, it's useful to examine a 3-levels interaction to see how much is the contribution of the factor for degrees greater than the first and the "variance" in the trend.
The new modeFRONTIER release has a new support tool for designing principle extraction developed by the Yokohama National University, called CAP (Computer Aided Principle). Unlike other conventional sensitivity and contribution analyses, it focuses on effects (or trends) of combinations of multiple variables (not only on effects of a single variable).
New algorithms are included in this version, designed for unconstrained optimization problems: SAnGeA (Screening ANalysis GEnetic Algorithm), and Hybrid Optimizer. SAnGeA combines a screening method for uncovering the most important variables and a genetic algorithm to uncover the larger Pareto front; Hybrid Optimizer combines a multi-objective genetic algorithm with a single objective SQP solver within a steady-state evolution scheme.
MACK scheduler, Fast algorithms, RSM Export tool, Uniform Latin Hipercube algorithm and Approximate Uniform Reducer algorithm have been strongly enhanced, to make the schedule and optimization phase more efficient.
