We’re pleased to announce that Canadian startup UVAD has selected modeFRONTIER for multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization of their UAVs.
UVAD designs, builds, and operates Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for both commercial and defense-related applications. The company has developed a multidisciplinary engineering capability stemming from their vertically integrated UAV system development experience.
“Leveraging the combination of our proprietary Digital Design Platform and industry leading tools,” a spokesperson from UVAD commented, “we conduct computational design and analysis relating to uncrewed aircraft and associated systems. Adding modeFRONTIER to this suite of tools gives us the capability to evaluate complex design spaces for optimum solutions, and determine their sensitivity to input variables from an early stage in the design process.”
The adoption of multidisciplinary design optimization is making headway in the aerospace and defense sector, but it’s even more critical when it comes to the design of futuristic aircraft concepts. MDO lets engineers explore the entire design space in the very preliminary design phase, but it also unlocks collaboration across disciplines and provides a cost-effective and fast solution where an excessive number of physical prototypes is not needed.
We offer flexible and attractive licensing options for startups, so they can take advantage of world class design optimization software at a reduced cost. We welcome UVAD to our customer base and are looking forward to supporting them in their fast-paced journey to develop the next generation of UAVs.
